Welcome to The XCodex Foundation. Our mission is to ban the Codex Alimentarius from the face of the Earth. We believe that people have the right to choose the nutrition and medication they think is best for their health, and that no agency or law should dictate what's "good for us." This site will tell you why.
What is the Codex Alimentarius?
The Codex Alimentarius Commission, Latin for ‘food code’, is an inter-governmental body that sets guidelines and standards to ensure ‘fair trade practices’ and consumer protection in relation to the global trade of food. It was established for this purpose in 1963 so has more than 40 years’ experience controlling food in an ever-more globalized world. Currently the Codex Alimentarius Commission has: 186 Codex Members, 185 Member Countries and 1 Member Organization (EU) as well as 230 Codex Observers, 52 IGOs, 162 NGOs and 16 UN.
How Does the Codex Affect You?
Codex standards and guidelines now exist for virtually all foods. While the adoption by countries of these standards and guidelines is theoretically optional, it leaves the 186 members little or no option but to comply with them. This effectively means that the activities of Codex now directly affect the vast majority of people on the planet. Significantly, the evidence is inescapable that Codex is increasingly putting economic interests – and particularly those of the pharmaceutical and chemical industries – before human health.
How Does It Dictate Your Health?
The Codex Alimentarius Commission controls not just food, but also vitamin and mineral food supplements, organic foods and the promotion of health benefits to name a few. While supplements and foods that are proven to be healthy are restricted, the Codex recently opened up an unrestricted freeway for genetically modified foods and dubious and unnatural agricultural practices. As a result, the global enforcement of these guidelines would ensure that the sale of therapeutic health products remains the exclusive province of the pharmaceutical industry.
Taking a Stand
The Codex is not an easy subject to get to grips with. With over 20 committees meeting on an annual basis and published reports comprising a total of over 1,400 pages in 2005 alone, most people are blissfully unaware of the extent to which its activities affect their health. Read on to discover the bigger picture behind the Codex Alimentarius Commission’s support for the “business with disease”.
Who We Are
We are a concerned group of individuals, healthcare professionals and health product manufacturers who have followed the growing threat of food and supplement dictatorship and have allied ourselves to break the monopoly of the Codex Alimentarius.
What We Do
We conduct public awareness campaigns to educate people on the effects of the Codex Alimentarius to their health and to prevent widespread future mayhem caused by GM foods. You can join our initiative by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know in what fields you can make a difference.
